A system designed to keep track of depreciable assets with actual, book, and
tax values and to create monthly General Ledger postings to Depreciation
Expense and Accumulated Depreciation Accounts.  Each asset is assigned a
primary department - so you can obtain asset listings departmentally.  The
purchase data and start date of use for the asset are tracked separately.
Each asset can be assigned an independent useful life - with a scrap value
